ZeCritique Feature Set III

Sat Aug 30, 2008, 4:47 PM
ZeCritique is back with a new feature set!
In order to easily view the deviations as you go, go here: [link]
Today's features are as follows:

16.Forgotten VII by ~JanuaryEmbers19
A unique feel, given by an unconventional shot.
A message to ponder on.

15.Fuzzy Love by ~mmzeller
Ah, home sweet home. Don't they just look cozy?

14..Departure by ~whdd
One of the few deviations where the artist's comments actually add to the work as a whole. A train shot that has something going on about it - the kind of something that makes you take a second look.

13.Bandits by *ell3cktra
The shot in itself has no spectacular lighting, nor a dramatic effect (as my usual choices do), but it's just fun to look at. It raises a smile.

12.trash by ~Felsz
ZeCritique has looked looked at trash alot in his life; after all, someone has to take it out. Yet, ZeCritique has never found such an interesting perspective, or perhaps, the even more interesting dent. Trash at it's greatest!

11.The Furnace by ~DjSlide
Casual. Nothing special going on here.
A pleasant mix of color and light.
Just like when you stare at walls, I guess - sort of relaxing.

10.Summer Foam by *maryanah
For the ones of you more passionate about sea shots, this one's bound to be a treat. The energy, the (lack of) light!

9.Golden forest 2 by ~eldrianne-photos
Plants. Thought you've seen them all? Plants in a garden; not work really looking at?
Well, this picture certainly turned out great; looked at in perspective, it can even look like something else.
Add the hint of heavenly light, and you have art.

8.Canyon Towhee shade by ~Caicaz
"Light implies shade, too."
Silhouettes, simple and perhaps overused as they may be nowadays, can still turn out interesting, given the right subject and background. And this one, I love.

7.Canyon Towhee shade by ~masterdarkness
I may had been talking about silhouettes being overused; but sea shots? Everyone does them nowadays.
This picture thusly deserves all its credit: It stands out from the others, being in a different league.
Calm, peaceful and relaxing.

6.Wasssaaaaa by ~zunkeez
Now, everyone loves for people to act spontaneous every now and then: Imagine being greeted like this!
As spontaneous as it gets: WASSAAAAA!

5.Trap by ~c-quark
Looking at the thumb, you may imagine it to be related to "Summer Foam"; well, it's not! The thumb is amazingly deceiving, being an entirely different image than one is lead to expect.

Coming in at number 4 we have 06. Regret by ~jstasilentscream
A remarkably well done example of macro photography, it has nothing common about it: I've never seen anyone taking a shot of spider web in detail before; less so even - drifting away.
Or it might not be a spider web - you decide.

The 3rd place of this edition goes to stardust by ~Balthezzar
I really, really like how this semi-manip (I think?) came out.
Enough so, that I could even say it's cinematic: Imagine our main character, walking through the night in what turns out to be merely a dream (or not), followed ever so closely by small, moving lights. Magnifique!

2nd place goes to Under my skin by =mastertouch
This photograph is amazing because... well, frankly, it's amazing. I've seen shots, "cover shots" (as far as style goes), to the point that I thought I'd seen them all. This stunningly beautiful shot proved me wrong, however.
Great model, great photographer.

And, the first place of this set goes to Autumn Looms by ~sublogic
An incredible shot in any point of view, it comes out as truly romantic. The light, the setting, the story! It all floats around vibrantly to create this master's work of art.

ZeCritique's Daily Deviation of the Set: TYPE 25 2006 "Velocity" by ~antifan-real
Speaking of masterpieces, this one surely doesn't fall short: Actually, I can say that it's the best car painting I've ever seen. Shock and awe, shock and awe...

And now, ze notes:
