Starting off the set of better than-the-ordinary-works, we have
16. black leaf by ~Sabeths-Reality. We see plenty of nature shots, but rarely in black and white. An intense fluid blur of shapes, it really comes across as different.

15.save your by ~Saint-Gut-Free
It's impressive to look at - it isn't really clear what's what, but the author has specified that there was no stock used, and that's something if you end up making something that well... looks like something.

14.catch the light by ~jovek is one of the few shots that gets its point across by not having much light - it symbolizes hope.

13.Life by ~necozx looks like a place where I'd love to relax - it seems to actually be one of the few "cozy" places outside.

12.Winter Grass by ~thephotocloset is one of those few pictures that looks better by having less; some may say I'm a shape fetishist - it's probably true, because those shapes are beautiful, especially in contrast with the bleak sky.

11.gondtalan idotoltes by ~csaby1 reflects the innocence of children - and the bright lights of their dreams and imagination.

10.Rooftops III by *SickGrrrl is overall a cinematic-like shot. The house looks as if taken from some epic movie - yet it isn't. The skies and mist are perfect, the house welcoming.

9.Form Snatcher 06 by *G2K2007 is just one shot of an amazing series. The light is subtly elegant, complementing good composition and a neat focus of the shot.

8.wschod dla Mai by ~szturman98 - one of the few sunset shots that don't actually have the sun in them. The lights flow gently among the deep shadows - creating an intense but eye-pleasing contrast.

7.Serra..2 by ~ATILANILANUK
It's a model shot all right - very expressive and with perfect lighting and angle for the purpose.

6.Coldhearted by ~EiMoOo
A representation of a ice lady - possibly looking upon something before a smile, or mourning after a loss. It's roughly soft, cold in colors, windy, vibrant and calm at the same time.

5.Learning to fly by ~Einstein05
Imagine a land where the lakes would be replaced by clouds, and where horses would have wings and "walk" upon them. A veritable dreamland!

4.Numerous Pathways by *one-tough-one
Some of you who may remember my older reviews would know that when I hear of Apophisys, I usually expect less-than-average work. Yet here, we have a stunning work of modern art!

3.Fun in the Storm by ~subliminalsublime
This picture caught my eye due to it's unusual composition - the angle is hard to achieve, the chairs in perfect order.

2.Rotary cannons for some by ~flyingdebris
My first reaction when seeing this was "Woah!", and then 834 other people agreed with me. A huge mech wreaking havoc upon the enemies - as delightful as it gets!

1.w e a k n e s s. by ~HilyExtReMe
Returning to the aspect of shapes, this one takes the crown; the use of light is perfect, as well as the picture.

This... looks... awesome.
